The famous fictional private detective, created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, is featured as the King in this remarkable chess set. His opponents are led by his arch enemy, Professor Moriarty, with the fearsome Hound of the Baskervilles as the Knight.

The famous characters in this superb set are based on the original drawings that appeared in Strand Magazine in 1890 to accompany the Sherlock Holmes stories. Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson face their greatest adversary, Professor Moriarty, across the chess board. The set also features Mrs Hudson, Inspector Lestrade, Irene Adler, Colonel Moran and the infamous Hound of the Baskervilles.

The mouldmakers are highly skilled individuals and their task is to ensure that no detail from the original is lost. Each casting is individually examined and inspected before being sent to be hand finished or hand painted.
